We read with interest the picture quiz ‘’A young man with palpitation’’ by Shaukat and Grey in Acute Medicine Journal, and we would like to make some comments regarding the management of pre-excited atrial fibrillation.
A fifty-eight year old man was referred to the Acute Medical Unit by his general practitioner with a generalised erythematous rash. The rash had appeared 3 weeks earlier, initially affecting his back, but had not responded to topical emollient treatment, nor the subsequent addition of an antibiotic.
Erythroderma (or ‘red man syndrome’) is a diffuse inf lammation of the skin, affecting at least 90% of the skin surface. It can be the clinical manifestation of a variety of dermatological, systemic, malignant and haematological diseases. It can be also the result of a hypersensitivity reaction to drugs.
